Transportation and Parking Services

Transportation and Parking Services (TPS) oversees all operations and policies related to these services on our campus, and works closely with campus partners to coordinate efforts and support how people arrive to, and move around, our campus. TPS contributes to the overall campus experience for the University community through its Revise Your Ride (RYR) commute programs, as well as working with University and local partners to provide campus mobility services, including a safe and integrated biking and walking network, TigerTransit, carshare, and bikeshare. In addition, TPS administers the University’s parking program and manages the University’s parking lots.

TPS responds to the increasing demand for parking through RYR, a comprehensive Transportation Demand Management (TDM) program, which includes ride share programs, subsidized rail and bus passes, and incentives for alternate local transportation, such as bicycling and walking. As part of the team supporting the campus plan, TPS works closely with the Office of the University Architect, the Office of Capital Projects, and local municipalities to ensure institutional parking and transportation needs are met, and to support the University’s continued commitment to maintaining a walkable and bikeable campus.

The University’s TigerTransit shuttle system operates on a fixed route schedule, providing safe, convenient, and reliable transportation throughout the Princeton campus and surrounding community. There are TigerTransit stops located near most major academic and administrative buildings, commuter parking lots, and housing facilities. In addition, the system provides access to local shopping areas on weekends, and an On Demand service for late night transportation around campus. TPS also offers TigerAccess, a reservable, accessible, curb-to-curb shuttle service for any Princeton University student, staff, faculty, or visitor with a permanent or temporary disability. During spring 2023, TPS will begin the transition to a full EV fleet. The TPS unit also supports parking services for campus events, athletic contests, and access to various campus venues.
